At its September quarterly meeting in Austin, the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors presented Austin Bar member Laura S. Fowler with the following resolution honoring her contributions to the legal profession and the community at large.

The Austin Bar Association and the Austin Bar Foundation sincerely thank Laura for her unwavering commitment to both organizations. We encourage our members to visit the Fowler Flower Garden at Hilgers House and to join the Loving It Lawyers Section, which is very active and has no age restrictions.

If you don’t know Laura already, we encourage you to get to know her. She’s passionate about the law and about ensuring lawyers keep their own passion for the law, no matter how long they’ve been practicing.

Whereas Laura S. Fowler is a 45-year member of the State Bar of Texas and a member of its Pro Bono College,

Whereas in 1979, Ms. Fowler received her Juris Doctorate degree from Baylor University School of Law,

Whereas Ms. Fowler began her legal career in 1980, serving her country as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps aboard the warship U.S.S Guadalcanal,

Whereas in 1983, Ms. Fowler returned to Texas to enter private practice and in 2007 founded The Fowler Law, P.C., and serves as its managing partner,

Whereas Ms. Fowler regularly provides pro bono legal services through the Austin Bar Association Pro Bono Legal Clinic and Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas and gives her time and resources to many local charities and civic organizations,

Whereas The Fowler Firm was awarded Top Pro Bono Firm by the Travis County Women Lawyers Association in 2009, and the following year received the W. Frank Newton Award from the State Bar of Texas for its pro bono and community service work,

Whereas in 2016, Ms. Fowler founded the Loving It Lawyers Club for senior lawyers as a section of the Austin Bar Association and has been instrumental in programming high-quality CLE for the group, honoring its 50-year lawyers annually, and encouraging its members to engage in pro bono work and to mentor younger attorneys,

Whereas Ms. Fowler is a strong supporter of the Austin Bar Foundation and was instrumental in that organization’s purchase of a future home,

Be it therefore resolved that the State Bar of Texas honors Laura S. Fowler with this resolution for her outstanding efforts on behalf of the people of Texas, her dedication to the Austin community, and her unwavering commitment to the legal profession as a whole.

Resolution adopted this 26th day of September 2025 by the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors in Austin, Texas.
