Story Republishing Guidelines

1. Any article authored by "Austin Bar Association" may be freely republished.

2. Any article not authored by "Austin Bar Association" is owned by the author(s) listed. To inquire about republishing these articles, please contact billy@austinbar.org.

1. You must give us credit, ideally in this format: “by the Austin Bar Association."

2. If you publish online, you must include the links from the story, and a link to austinbar.org.

3. It’s fine to change the story to suit your in-house style

4. If you publish online, when possible, include the Austin Lawyer of the story as the value of the canonical tag in the metadata (<head>) of your republished story.

5. If you make changes that are more significant than style tweaks — such as adding a comment from a local official — you need to include a note like this: “Additional reporting by (your organization).”

6. We do not own the rights to all the photos and graphics we publish. To inquire about the rights of photos and graphics, please email billy@austinbar.org.
